The Central Oklahoma Rural Living Council exists to support, educate, and equip individuals and families who live in—or are considering a move to—rural Oklahoma. As more residents migrate beyond city limits, the need for practical knowledge, responsible development, and informed decision-making has never been greater.
Rural living offers independence and opportunity, but it also carries unique challenges. Water systems, septic design, land use, zoning, access, utilities, soil conditions, and long-term property stewardship require a level of understanding that is often overlooked or misunderstood. The Council was formed to close that gap.
We are a collaborative network of experienced professionals across essential rural service industries, including water and wastewater, construction, agriculture, land development, energy, and infrastructure. By drawing directly from real-world expertise, we translate trade knowledge into clear, accessible education for homeowners and landowners.
Our work includes the development of white papers, educational media, and in-person learning opportunities. Through partnerships with local trade schools, service providers, and community organizations, we offer training and resources grounded in Oklahoma’s geography, regulations, and rural realities.
The Central Oklahoma Rural Living Council is non-political and practical by design. Our focus is long-term sustainability, informed ownership, and responsible rural growth that strengthens both individuals and communities.
